We use music in each of my classes as a way to concentrate on projects. Students tend to be better behaved and task oriented when able to listen to their favorite songs. This is also used as a reward for good behavior and meeting assignment deadlines.
Each group in each class has created a playlist of 10-15 songs of their choice. This was a class assignment and they did receive a grade for it. Before any songs can be played in class, I must have permission from all parents that they have seen the playlist and approved of the songs that have been selected by your child and their classmates. You will find everything from country, rock, and pop, to classical, gospel, and rap. The final list for each class can be found on their class page (see tab). Each student was had an assignment of having the finalized class playlist approved by their parents. This assignment was due January 16. Any songs that you wanted removed have been removed. As soon as I have received approval of the entire class, they will be able to listen to their music.
You can see the finalized playlist once all students have turned theirs back in on the appropriate class tab.
**I have attempted to weed out any that I knew were not appropriate for group listening, as well as they were instructed not to list any that may even be questionable. Because I am not aware of all the songs, please do not hesitate to remove anything that seems questionable.
***Guidelines were: Absolutely No Profanity, No Explicit Lyrics
(Which probably means no Lil' Wayne or Eminem) :)
